Otodus auriculatus ruled the oceans roughly 30 million years ago and was a close relative of the infamous megalodon. Auriculatus was the great grandfather of the megalodon. Though never found to reach the massive sizes of the meg, Auriculatus was a fearsome predator measuring about to 30’ in length.
This tooth is gorgeous! I love the subbtle pops of yellow against the dark colors of this tooth. The tooth features stunning enamel, a well-defined bourlette and serrations along both edges and cusps. This auriculatus tooth pendant measures approximately 2 1/16” from tip to corner of root.
