Phacops is a genus of trilobites in the order Phacopida, family Phacopidae, that lived in Europe, northwestern Africa, North and South America and China from the Late Ordovician until the very end of the Devonian. This beautiful specimen was sourced from the Hamar L'Aghdad Limestones. Located in the Djebel Issoumour area of the Anti-Atlas Mountains of Morocco. This fossil dates to the middle Devonian age, around 380 million years ago.
This trilobite is presented in the original matrix. The trilobite itself measures approximately 2 1/8" long. The whole piece measures approximately 4” long by 2 1/2” wide by 1 1/2” high.
