Whaler’s Locker is excited to share our ever popular high-carbon Damascus knives with you. The bone scales feature one-of-a-kind, hand scrimmed art work by local artist Paul Sheldon. Paul is a well known artist in Lahaina and with longtime collectors of scrimshaw. His pieces exhibit extreme detail including ships, sea creatures, and who doesn’t love a beautiful mermaid?
The Damascus knife is a magnificent pocket knife or scrimshaw collector piece. It features a stunning high-carbon Damascus blade with a brass bolster. The scales are made of polished bone which results in a beautiful contrast to the darker Damascus steel. The blade is locked by a classic lock back.
The knife closed measures approximately 3 3/4”, 6 5/8” open, with a blade about 3” in length.
Because of the higher carbon content the blade will need an occasional oiling. This will keep the integrity of the blade and prevent oxidation.
