At Whaler’s Locker we love history and the ocean. Our ammonite fossil pendant is a great way to enjoy these amazing extinct creatures on a daily basis. Ammonites are a long-extinct marine animal related to modern nautiloids. Ammonites disappeared from the earth at approximately the same time as the dinosaurs, 65 million years ago. Though none live today, scientists know quite a bit about ammonites thanks to their plentiful fossils found all over the world in ancient sea beds. Our ammonites average about 300 million years old and were sourced from Morocco.
The intriguingly beautiful ammonite fossils make gorgeous pendants to wear as jewelry to showcase the inner chambers' intricate details. The pendants average about 1 3/4” across and are fitted with gold-fill rabbit ear bales.
