Banded agate is a semi-precious gem and are a variegated variety of chalcedony. It forms by alternating the chalcedony with layers of crystalline quartz forming banded agate. The stone is sourced from Madagascar.
Many people believe banded agate increases memory, honesty and concentration. It is also believed to have the ability to turn dark emotions, such as jealousy, bitterness, and resentment into positive emotions like self-acceptance and forgiveness.
